Rock Climbing Portugal is Live and This is Just the Beginning

For years, information about climbing in Portugal has been scattered across forums, Facebook groups, outdated PDFs, and word of mouth. Anyone trying to find out where to climb, how to get to certain crags, what grades were available, or whether a gym had lead walls had to dig deep, ask the right person, or simply show up and find out.

Rock Climbing Portugal was built to change that.

What is Rock Climbing Portugal?

It is a community resource dedicated to gather all the relevant information about climbing in Portugal in one place. A starting point, whether you are a beginner looking for somewhere to train, a local planning a weekend trip, or an international visitor putting together a climbing holiday.

The site is organised around two main areas: outdoor crags (areas, sectors, grades, access, GPS, best season, and practical notes for anyone planning a day out or a longer trip) and climbing gyms (a full directory of gyms across Portugal, with information on location, wall types, facilities, and opening hours).

This is a community built on a passion for climbing and a desire to have a quality resource that actually serves the Portuguese climbing community.

The mission is clear: keep the information accurate, accessible, and useful. Free, for everyone.

What's coming next

We are just getting started. Here is what we have planned for the coming months: a blog with articles on crags, climbing guides, interviews with local climbers, a calendar covering festivals, competitions and other events, more crags and topos added regularly, with contributions from the community.
